Sergey Yegorov

Research Assistant

I grew up in Western Kazakhstan, did my BSc in Biology and my MSc in BioScience and Public Policy in Canada.  My career in research started with an Honors thesis project, for which I studied the gene expression of a poorly investigated peptide family, relaxin peptides, in zebrafish. For my MSc, I studied the molecular evolution of the relaxin peptides and their receptors in all vertebrates using primarily bioinformatics tools.
At present, I’m involved in the development of zebrafish husbandry protocols and research procedures in the Gilman Lab.
I like to travel and do swimming and running when I get a chance.
